John Cena

20th anniversary of WWE debut on Monday Night Raw

John Cena made his return to WWE on the June 27 episode of Monday Night Raw to celebrate the 20th anniversary of his debut.

The reason for his appearance was to celebrate the 20th anniversary of his WWE debut, where he battled Kurt Angle on a 2002 episode of SmackDown.

Cena approached the ring to speak to the audience, where he thanked the fans. There was no build to a potential future match.

But the 16-time world champion said that he is not sure the next time he will make a return to the ring.

Twitter users reacted to Cena’s return, and thanked the superstar for the memories he provided throughout his 20-year wrestling career.

A variety of video packages were shown throughout the night, showcasing Cena’s accomplishments in and out of the ring.

There were also a variety of wrestlers sending their congratulations to Cena, including All Elite Wrestling stars Chris Jericho

No future matches were teased like fans had expected, but it was a moment where fans thanked Cena for all he has done since making his debut on June 27, 2002.
